Jared Fisher was excited and honored to have been interviewed on the Kevin Wall Radio Show this morning. The Kevin Wall Show airs on AM and FM channels across the state of Nevada and enjoyed speaking with Kevin and getting the opportunity to explain to Nevadans why he is running for governor and why he thinks this race is so important.

Below is a transcript of a few of the highlights from the interview:
Kevin Wall: Why are you running for governor?
Jared Fisher: My kids grew up here. Our roots are here in Southern Nevada. Honestly, I love this state. My career has been venturing around the Southwest United States…and I’ve gotten a really good feeling of how Nevada sits in that whole scheme of things; who our neighbors are. Just knowing the backcountry and working with the state governments, the Federal government—BLM, the National Forest Service, the National Park Service—I felt I had a really good grasp…I looked for a public position that I would do best for my state…and when I came across ‘governor’, it was like a light went off—’This is what I do!’ You don’t need to be a lawyer to be the governor of the state of Nevada. You need to know your neighbors. You need to know the people. I’ve lived in this state long enough where I’ve watched Southern Nevada grow twice as big as it was in 1991. I’ve seen our school system expand—I’ve seen the ups and the downs. I’ve gotten involved in politics to a point where I’ve found myself complaining, and I thought ‘Hey, wait. I can’t just be that guy. What are we going to do about this?’

Kevin Wall: It’s going to be an expensive race, we’re told. Is money that important? And how is that going to impact your ability to get your message out?
Jared Fisher: I think a lot about that. First things first, I’m a business guy…And the success of our businesses have come through proper management of money. And a lot of people ask me, ‘Hey, how did you pull this particular project off, Jared? How did you do that?’ …And I said, look, I know where to cut costs. I know how to save money…I know when I need to cut the fat. And so, as I looked at this campaign—Yes, I do have some of my own money and I have no problem putting that in towards this campaign—I feel Nevada that has blessed me and my family and my business and my 50 employees to the point where I owe it to Nevada to give back some of my own personal finances to the state, so I will be putting my own money in, but I am fundraising as well. I have a great fundraising staff and I’ve been making a lot of calls.
Kevin Wall: You’ve had a chance to talk to a lot of people. What do people want out of the next governor?
Jared Fisher: I think what people want out of the next governor is they want somebody transparent. They want somebody who is going to be able to look at education and look at opportunities for their children…The thing I hear time and time again is that people out there feel their voice is not heard. And I feel that we as the public, we as the people of the state of Nevada often forget about what we’re actually trying to do. Are we worried about the short-term goals, things in our own personal lives that are going to make our own personal lives better? Or are we a little more selfless, where we can work toward our children’s future…As a successful business owner, I always look to the long-term goals of our state.
