My connection with Jared Fisher dates back to 1997 and his then quaint bike shop on West Charleston. I have been a patron of Las Vegas Cyclery for 20 years and my connection with Jared Fisher has deepened during this time. Approximately 8 years ago, I approached Jared regarding the possibility of purchasing a building for his burgeoning bike shop, Las Vegas Cyclery and thriving touring business, Escape Adventures. He amazed me with his vision to develop a green building and the hunt was on for the right piece of real estate. He needed a footprint sufficient to create a world class “Net Zero” bike shop and we found a parcel in Summerlin that would allow him to bring about his dream. The move into the new building at 10575 Discovery Drive has proven to be a boon for the community and his business. The design of this special eco building draws people from all over the world. He has created a powerful customer service experience in his bike shop and a patronage that is fanatically loyal!
Over the years, Jared and I have covered many miles together on our mountain bikes. During these special “business” meetings on the trail I further discovered Jared’s love of his family, Nevada, the environment, and cycling. Not only is he a legendary mountain biker but he is a compassionate human being. He has expressed a deep concern for the protection of the constitution and in making sure that Nevada continues to be a favorable place to conduct business. Mile after mile (usually while climbing) I would listen to his ideas about business and politics and his desire to keep the good things going and effect change where he sees deficiencies. I believe him. He never ever stops pedaling and I know that he will work tirelessly on his political objectives in a similar fashion. Jared is fair, determined, and without guile.
I am a better man because of my friendship with Jared. I know more about family, Nevada, business, and bicycles as a result of my closeness with Jared.
