Jared Speaks at a Republican Town Hall about the Need for More Small Business Leaders in Government

Speaking at Republican Town Hall Event
Businessman Jared Fisher, speaking about the need to elect a small business owner as governor of Nevada.

I’ve always been the CEO of our company… (a governor) is in charge of managing people, managing problems and managing money and learning how to bring all those things together. That is exactly what I’ve done for 25 years at Escape Adventures. ” – Jared Fisher

Last Wednesday night, in an impassioned speech before a Republican Town Hall Meeting in Las Vegas, Jared Fisher spoke about his time as a student at the University of Nevada Las Vegas (UNLV), the people he met on his statewide Listening Tours and the reasons behind his decision to run for governor. Jared also spoke about the importance of electing public officials who have a strong background in business.

“…We can’t keep electing the same people over and over again. We need to have new leadership. 1911 was the last time we elected a small business owner to this state.” – Jared Fisher, speaking at a Republican Town Hall in Las Vegas. #NVGov pic.twitter.com/xDsIQIUk6l

We’re ranked number 49 in government—49 in government; in state government,”  Fisher said before a crowd of conservative voters. “We’re ranked 50th—as you all know by yesterday’s results—in education again. And we’re ranked 51st in mental health. Something needs to be done. Somebody needs to stand up. And we can’t keep electing the same people over and over again. We need to have new leadership…1911 was the last time we elected a small business owner to this state.”

Additionally, Jared emphasized the need to be smart and efficient with how government spends education dollars, stating:

Our education system is a bucket with a bunch of holes and everyone keeps trying to band-aid it from the outside. That can be fixed if you have someone who understands money and business and has kids that are vested in the schools. Right now my kids are all in Clark County (public schools) and one is at CSN….We keep spending money in something that needs efficiency.”

Jared emphasized the need for parental involvement and inclusion saying that that is the primary factor in a child’s success in school.

As a small business owner and entrepreneur, the future of the state’s economy is one of Jared’s chief concerns and a major part of his platform. Jared plans to improve Nevada’s economy by creating sustainable long-term solutions through diversification, elimination of growth-hindering regulations, and looking to the private sector for creative solutions. Attracting high-performing businesses to our state will involve rebranding the state with an exciting quality-of-life aspect that highlights our state’s greatest resources.

Jared would like to thank the organizers of the Republican Town Hall for inviting him to be a guest speaker and for providing him with an opportunity to share his plan to create a more prosperous and economically-diverse Nevada. He appreciates the group’s dedication to our national and state values and looks forward to more Town Hall speaking opportunities.
